Carine McCandless, author of "The Wild Truth" spoke to English 11 and Creative Writing students yesterday about why her brother, Chris, the subject of Jon Krakauer's book, "Into the Wild" ventured alone into Alaska. Ms. McCandless delivered a deeply moving, thoughtful explanation to our students, and provided them with many opportunities to ask questions of their own. Thank you Ms. McCandless for visiting our school and providing this opportunity to our students!
Groups of Global History students in Mrs. Medwid's classes recently collaborated to create documentaries about human rights violations after conducting research about an assigned country. They used the Global History in Context database for their research and the new Green Screen Video Lab in the Learning Commons for some of their footage. Featured below is a student made documentary about human rights abuses in Rwanda.
