News Channel 9 chose to feature Baker High School for its "Cool Schools" broadcast this morning, and selected the Learning Commons Video Lab for a segment. They interviewed students who were responsible for setting up the green screen and stop motion areas, as well as students who have been active users of those technologies for school projects, including World Mythology and Participation in Government. In Mrs. Rooney's Spanish 5 class, students had to design a new product/service in order to resolve a social problem (social inequality, unemployment, poverty etc.) and create a commercial in order to convince others to use their product. The first commercial featured below is for "SkyBucks," a coffee delivery service (by airplane). The other commercial is for a "Money Tree." Both commercials were made using the Green Screen Video Lab in the Learning Commons.
